Bildtolkning: Att uppfatta ett innehåll i bilden och försöka förstå vad vi upplever av bilden

Symbol: Är ett tecken eller bild för något. Ordet symbol kommer från Grekiskan och betyder ”kännetecken”
Exempel: I bilder används ofta en röd färg eller ett hjärta som en symbol för kärlek Trafikmärken, tecken för man/kvinna |

Denotation: Tecknens grundbetydelse betydelse (Vad som finns i bilden och hur de visas =föremål, bildvinklar, ljussättning)

|
|
Konnotation: Gemensamma associationer (Ex. att det finns en julgran i bilden gör att vi associerar till julen)
|
|
|
Indirekt kommunikation: Masskommunikation genom tidningar, tv, reklam. Den når många personer i princip samtidigt men den som sänder vet inte alltid vem mottagaren är. Informationen är ofta enkelriktad, vilket betyder att mottagaren inte kan svara på informationen

|
Kommunikation: Överföring av information mellan människor, djur eller apparater. Även växter kommunicerar, till exempel genom att locka djur med färger och dofter.

Allegori: En berättelse i ord eller bild som handlar om något annat än det bilden visar.
Ordet allegori kommer från Grekiskan ”tala på annat sätt” Exempel: En bildberättelse som utspelar sig som en äventyrssaga, men egentligen handlar sagan om ett förtryckt land. |

Index: Tecken som får sin betydelse ur ett samband mellan företeelser.
Exempel: En bild av rök antyder att det finns eld |

Piktoral betydelse: Vad man uttrycker (symbol, ikon, index)
Exempel: Plastisk betydelse: Hur man uttrycker något Exempelvis en varningstriangel |

Metonym sammankoppling: Det är ofta svårt att uppfatta helheten i en bild. Ofta krävs det att studera i vilket samband bilden uppträder.
Exempel: Bilden av en utsrtäckt hand kan påminna om någon som ber om något, bibetydelsen kan vara en människa i nöd |

Metaforisk sammankoppling: Metafor betyder liknelse ”vacker som en ros”
I bildspråket uppstår metaforiska sammankopplingar genom förändringar av former, färger. Exempel: En basfiol kan påminna om en ryggen på en människa. Ett äpple kan påminna om huvudets form. |

Genre: Är en grupp av litteratur, bildkonst, film eller andra konstarter som har vissa gemensamma drag

Although this form of vlogging is very one-of-a-kind, you shouldn't think that this incredible guy would use any type of drugs while literally flying in space. Chris was actually just trying to surprise his co-workers with some Easter eggs!

The horrible 9/11 story still remains a mystery for the most part, various conspiracy theories surf the Internet without anyone giving the real answers. So, there's no doubt that when a photo taken just a moment before the tragedy happened was posted online, people quickly started sharing it. Well, luckily the man in the photo did not witness the tragedy take place. That's probably the only good thing there is to say about this awful event.

Efter terrorattentaten i Frankrike förra veckan har flera manifestationer mot våld och terrorism ägt rum. Bland annat en i Paris där flera av världens ledare var med. En tidning valde dock att retuschera bort alla kvinnliga ledare från bilder från manifestationen.
Det är den ultra-ortodoxa tidningen The Announcer som tagit sig kreativa friheter med bilden. Bland annat har Tysklands förbundskansler Angela Merkel och Paris borgmästare Anne Hidalgo försvunnit från bilden.
